On Verge of Strike – Grocery Workers Take the Streets

It has been five months since the contract expiration between UFCW and Albertsons, Ralphs, and Vons, and yet management is still failing to hold up their end of the bargain. Each day that passes means another day without a living wage, affordable medical benefits, and retirement security for 50,000 hardworking individuals and their families.

You can show moral support by adopting a store in your community. By doing this, it strengthens the bond between the workers and community.

Click here to adopt a store!

Additionally, you can help by doing the following:

1. Delegate to a store manager: Organize your network (friends, family, organizational members, congregations, etc). Let UFCW 770 know which date and time you are thinking of doing your delegation, and they will connect you with other community allies.

2. #MakeEndsMeet: Show your community how they are directly linked to the well-being of the grocery workers on social media. Email rigo@ufcw770•org pictures of your delegation and/or share them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter with the hashtag “ #MakeEndsMeet.”

If you have any further questions, please contact Rigo Valdez at rigo@ufcw770•org or Jean Tong at213-590-7177.
