Education International Slams Trump Immigrant Order

Education International - representing more than 32 million education employees in 170 countries and territories - is condemning Trump's immigrant travel ban order.

Education International says Trump's order defies important democratic values, is discriminatory and violates international standards protecting the rights of immigrants and refugees.

Appearing on an Education International webinar AFT President Randi Weingarten said her union opposes not only the immigration ban, but "the racist and xenophobic logic that underlies [the Executive Order], the havoc [the administration has] created in the lives of those affected, and the damage [the Order has] done to America’s standing in the world and to [US] national security.”
