Missouri AFL-CIO Has The Petition Signatures For A ‘People’s Veto’ Election On Anti-Union Law

Missouri AFL-CIO President Mike Louis says enough petition signatures have been collected to give Missouri voters a “people’s veto” on the so-called “Right To Work’ anti-worker law. Louis says over 112,000 – more than enough signatures – are already collected to give all Missouris voters a chance to override their government on this issue.

A Worker’s Call To Arms – Time To Go To War To Save The Labor Movement

CWA President Chris Shelton is sounding a worker’s call to arms to go to war to save the labor movement.

Chris Shelton: “We are at war. A war to save the labor movement. In a war there are no neutrals. To paraphrase the old union song, in times like these every working person must decide which side you are on.”

Minimum Wage $1 An Hour Increase Equals 9700 Fewer Child Neglect Cases A Year

Researchers at Indiana University and the University of Connecticut say raising the minimum wage by a dollar an hour would decrease child neglect cases. Lindsey Rose Bullinger and Kerri Raissian say that $1 dollar wage increase would result in 9,700 fewer child neglect cases annually. The researchers studied nine years of child mistreatment cases tracking changes in the number of child neglect reports to child protective service agencies with increases in the minimum wage.
