USW 1999: Trump 'Lied His Ass Off' - Carrier Sends 550 Jobs To Mexico, Gets $7M

Chuck Jones, President of United Steelworkers Local 1999 at the Carrier plant in Indianapolis, says Trump "lied his ass off" about saving Carrier jobs from being sent to Mexico.

Jones says while it's true that some jobs were saved, hundreds more jobs from Carrier are still going to Mexico. And Carrier's parent company is getting $7 million in tax credits from Indiana to add insult to injury to the people of Indiana.

[Chuck Jones]: "People got false hopes that they were gonna keep their jobs. And when all the smoke cleared, 730 are keepin' their jobs, 550 aren't gonna have a job.

So, once again, grateful for what he did but that's not what he campaigned on. He campaigned on 'I'm gonna keep all the jobs here at Carrier in Indianapolis. They're not goin' to Mexico.

He didn't deliver."

Jones says 300 more Indiana jobs are going to Mexico from the nearby Rexnord plant in Indianapolis.

The Indiana AFL-CIO is planning a Christmas prayer vigil for Carrier and Rexnord workers losing their jobs to Mexico on Sunday December 11th at Mt. Olive Ministries in Indianapolis.
