Knots, Rope, and Traditional Rigging - Oct 6 2019

Proper knot tying is an essential skill for the lighting technician and the most basic skills are often the most easily overlooked. This hands-on class will go into how rope functions, inspection, maintenance, knots, loads, breaking strength, and warning signs of an overloaded system. This class will focus on the skills necessary to safely suspend equipment overhead. Also included will be traditional counterweight systems found in theatrical venues which require training in order to use for both the grip and lighting crews.
