AFL-CIO": $54B Trump Cut To Working Families Is "Dangerous And Destructive"

AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka says the Trump budget shortchanges working people by trying to balance the budget on their backs.

Trumka says working people in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin didn't vote "or a budget that slashes workforce training and fails to invest in our nation’s infrastructure. "

The AFL-CIO says the $54 billion Trump's budget cuts to programs that benefit working families is dangerous and destructive.

As deportations and raids on undocumented immigrant workers happen across America it is being resisted by organized labor, immigrant rights groups, clergy and sanctuary communities.

They resist because the vast majority of undocumented workers have committed no other crimes and are simply working and raising their families.

AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka leaves no doubt which side organized labor is on when it comes to mass deportations.

Global Unemployment Is Growing As Global Unions Conference Meets

Global unemployment is expected to grow substantially this year. The Education International global union is trying to do something about it.

Radio Labour's C Marie Ainsborough reports.

"More than 60 participants from over 40 countries are meeting in Brussels this week to figure out how to grow employment in the education sector.

The conference has been organized by Education International. EI is the global union federation which represents teachers and other education workers at the world level.
