Coordinated Walmart Strikes Organized By Workers On Social Media - In China

Walmart has been hit by coordinated strikes at multiple stores simultaneously in different cities in a worker protest that has lasted three months. The strikes were coordinated on social media.

They happened in China.

Not only that, but these protest strikes are worker organized without any help from labor organizations. Two workers set up an online platform to mobilize support for the strikes. The striking, protesting workers call themselves the “Walmart China Workers’ Association” (WCWA).

Just days before the November election the National Labor Relations Board ordered Trump Hotel Las Vegas to stop breaking labor law and negotiate with workers who voted to join the Culinary Workers union.

Culinary Workers spokesperson Bethany Hahn, speaking on WBAI's Building Bridges program, says the President-Elect continues to disrespect both his workers and federal law by refusing to bargain with those workers. The Culinary Workers Union is calling for a boycott of all Trump hotels and golf courses.
