Jim literally wrote the book on Concert Lighting and pioneered modern television lighting. Jim frequently collaborates with Jeff Ravitz on a variety of projects. A big believer is giving back to the industry, Jim served on the faculty of CalArts and Occidental College for several years. Currently Jim splits his time between his boat in Ventura (he is a Captain in the USCG) and coordinating educational events for the motion picture/television industry at Kinetic Lighting.
