[Online] Proposed Changes to Article 530 of the NEC (NPFA 70)

Class Description:

Article 530 of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) governs the use of portable power distribution systems for motion picture/television studios and similar locations. This code cycle, a complete revision of Article 530 has been proposed. Some of the changes include: adding guidance for non-production areas, modifications of the 400% rule to match our current practice, and the elimination of obsolete equipment and references. The changes to Article 530 have the ability to significantly affect how we work. As Motion Picture/Television Lighting Technicians, we are the only people qualified to do our work but the changes are open to comment by anyone in the United States. It is very important that people who work under these guidelines make comments on these proposed changes based on our experience. In addition to going over the changes within the Article, we will also go over how to make comments.
