7-28-2020 The "Woefully Inadequate HEALS Act"

On July 27th, Senate Republicans introduced their opening bid for the next coronavirus relief package – the “HEALS” Act.

It will come as no surprise that the bill, as currently drafted, is woefully inadequate in addressing the needs of entertainment workers in the ongoing health crisis.

Please see the IATSE Response & Statement from International President Loeb Opposing "HEALS" Act and reinforcing the need for the Senate to take up the HEROES Act, which addresses our subsequent priorities for COVID-19 federal relief.

IATSE calls on the Senate to dismiss this legislative draft outright and begin negotiations on the House-passed HEROES Act which will provide the federal relief that working families across the country require.” – International President Matthew D. Loeb
