We regret to inform the membership of the passing of Paul J. Caven at the age of 79. Paul took his oath of obligation on January 13, 1968, received his 50-year service pin in 2018 and IATSE Honorary Retirement Card in 2024.
Paul dedicated many years of service to Local 728, which include: Central Labor Council, IA and District 2 Delegate, Executive Board Member, and was appointed as Chairperson to the Print Directory and Web Page Committees.
In 2021, Paul published "Tales From Behind the Lights: A Glimpse at 40 Years Behind the Scenes During the "Second Golden Age of Movies" (recommended reading!).
After a long and successful career that spanned over 40 years, Paul retired and moved to Missouri with his wife and daughter.
