I regret having to report the passing of Brother Ronald “Ron” Tickle on March 4, 2024 at the age of 84. Brother Tickle was a 63-year member of Local 728 having been obligated in November 1961.

Ron served a three-year tour of duty in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1965. In 1978 he was appointed as the alternate Lot Steward at CBS Radford and then Lot Steward from 1980-1985. During this time he was also the Chief Rigging Foreperson of the Radford Set Lighting Department. In June of 1980 Brother Tickle was elected to the Executive Board where he served 2 & 1/3 terms until January 1987 at which time he resigned, having been elected to the office of Treasurer-Call Steward. Ron served as Local 728’s Treasurer-Call Steward for 15 years, 5-terms from January 1987 to January 2002 at which time he retired after a 41-year career. In November 2000, Ron was awarded our Local’s highest honor, a Local 728 Gold Card.
