Brother James B. Williams, a 26 year member since May 8th, 1993, passed away at the age of 62 on December 6, 2019.

Brother Gary Scalzo, a 40 year member of Local 728 who joined in 1979, passed away at the age of 61 on November 13, 2019. Gary will be remembered by many as the long-time department head of Set Lighting at Paramount Studios in the 1980's and 90's.

Brother Douglas Mathias, a 50-year member of Local 728, passed away on Monday October 28th, 2019 at the age of 82.
During his long and distinguished set lighting career, Doug was the Chief Lighting Technician on many top rated television series and feature films.
He stayed active after retiring from working on stage, often coming around to the Local to visit. He helped build the artifact displays in our hallway niches.
He was also one of the great contributors of photographs that are on this website from the 60's, 70's and 80's. 

It is again with a heavy heart that we must inform the membership of the passing of another Local 728 Gold Card member, that of 30 year member, 63 year old Roger Lattin. Roger was well known for his selfless dedication to the safety, education and training of all his 728 sisters and brothers as well as set lighting technicians throughout the industry.

Brother Lon Massey III, a 54 year member since 12-13-1965, passed away at the age of 74 on October 2, 2019.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform our membership that Local 728 Gold Card member Richard McConihay, aka "Dick" "Captain Dickie" has passed away at the age of 81. Dick was a long time Sergeant at Arms of Local 728 and many of us know him as the door keeper of our union meetings. Many more of us also knew him as an exemplary ACLT, who always took care of his crew, was fair minded, played by the rules and was never afraid to stand up to an employer or a gaffer when need be. He joined Local 728 on September 12, 1960, 59 years ago.

Brother David L. Schwartz, 69 years old and a member of Local 728 since March 25, 1978 passed away on September 1st, 2019

Brother  Alfred "Al" Kalous passed away on July 24th, 2019 He was 81 years old. Al was obligated into membership on February 23, 1974, making him a 45 year member of Local 728. His brother and ours, Ken Kalous, passed away in 2015.

Brother Richard Smock, initiated on April 4th, 1980, passed away on May 30th, 2019 at the age of 59.

Brother John Isaacs who was initiated into membership on January 9th, 1961 passed away on Jun 10th, 2019. He was 89 years old.
