Uber Loses Bid To Overturn Seattle Taxi Driver Union Rights Ordinance

The multi-billion dollar Uber company has failed to overturn a Seattle ordinance giving Uber drivers the right to unionize.

The Teamsters are mounting an effort to organize Uber drivers in Seattle. A Washington state judge ruled against Uber's effort to legally overturn the city ordinance.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has a separate suit against Seattle for giving Uber, Lyft and other taxi drivers the right to form unions.

Seattle's elected city council unanimously passed the union rights ordinance in 2015.
