Painter’s Union And Supporters Rally To Free ICE Detainees

Immigrants are marching here, no papers no fear!”

Union members and community supporters rallied in San Francisco to protest the ICE detention of Painter’s union member Hugo Mejia and United Brotherhood of Carpenters member Rodrigo Nunez. The two were handed over to ICE when they showed up for work at Travis Air Force base in northern California. They have been in detention for over a month with no hearing on their cases. Hugo has been a painter’s union member for ten years. Neidi Dominguez is with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT).

Neidi Dominguez: “We are here because what’s happening to Hugo and Rodrigo is not just unfair, it’s unjust.”
