Nurses Urge Rejection of The "Mortal Threat" Of House Health Bill As CA Medicare For All Advances

A hundred National Nurses United RN's were on Capitol Hill Wednesday urging the Senate to reject the "mortal threat" of the House health care bill. The nurses say the House Republican health insurance bill is “a mortal threat to the health and well-being of our patients, and to the health security of our country.”

The nurses are advocating Medicare for all instead.

In California National Nurses United/California Nurses Association (NNU/CNA) are pushing hard for a state Medicare For All bill.

Stephanie Roberson is Legislative Advocate for NNU/CNA.

Stephanie Roberson: "It would guarantee healthcare for every person living in the state of California and we hope to offer comprehensive benefits to everyone. And it's similar to Medicare For All.

The next step is (California) Senate Appropriations Committee where we discuss the financial aspects of the bill. We hope to hear that towards the end of May, hopefully May 22nd."
