How do I join IATSE Local 728?

You must work 30 days as a "permit" for a signatory producer in order to join IATSE Local 728. To obtain work as a permit, call the Set Lighting departments of the major studios each day at 6AM and ask if they are hiring permits.

When do I have to pay my dues?

Dues are payable quarterly on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st.

How much are dues?

For 2012, dues are $230 per quarter for Active members. For Retirees, the dues are $95 per year.

When are the Membership meetings?

You may click on the CALENDAR tab which will show you when the meetings are held. You must be a member with a current card and stamp to attend.

Where are the Membership meetings held?

The meetings are held at IATSE Local 728, 1001 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank, CA 91506. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER TO ATTEND A UNION MEETING. A membership card with a current quarter stamp is required.

How do I get "on the books" to find work?

If you call the office and speak to the Call Steward, they will put your name on the books. Only members in good standing can be put on the availability list.
